About the role:
Our National Security domain provides communications systems, including satellites, wide area communications network infrastructure, tactical communications, command and control systems and C4ISR systems to key customers.

The Systems Engineering Manager will be a key in directing and delivering systems engineering activities on one of the largest terrestrial communications programs in Australian history. This is a permanent role with many benefits and future opportunities for career growth.

Key responsibilities:
  • Planning and coordinating the system engineering activities in accordance with design policy in order to satisfy customer requirements.
  • Managing engineering activities to ensure compliance with legislative requirements, corporate and local engineering policies, processes and procedures, technical specifications and standards and if necessary developing required policies, processes and procedures.
  • Acting as the technical interface with key stakeholders while providing engineering advice, technical support and expertise.
  • Providing engineering leadership, mentoring and development for the engineering and technician teams.
  • Preparing and participating in key engineering reviews, for example, system design reviews, test readiness reviews and configuration control boards.

Skills and experience:
  • Prior extensive management of engineering teams.
  • Degree in Engineering (in the field of systems, communications, electronics or electrical engineering or similar).
  • Previous experience as a system engineering manager (or other similar capacity) on defence information & communication technology (ICT) and electronics systems projects or large transformation projects will be highly regarded.

Special requirements:
You must be able to obtain an Australian security clearance.
