PB’s regional power business are leading providers of engineering consultancy services, detailed design, procurement services, EPC/M and project management services to the global power/energy market. We offer expertise in power generation; transmission and distribution; energy services for buildings and facilities; and underground storage of hydrocarbons.
Parsons Brinckerhoff is looking to continue its growth in the WA Power market and right now we are working on major power projects in Western Australia, Australia, New Zealand and across the Asia Pacific region.
Position: Business Development Manager, Power

The Opportunity:
To assist with our ongoing growth we are currently looking for a Business Development Manager who wants to work as an integral part of power business.
This role will have the prime accountability of further establishing PB as a highly influential force in the development, engineering and delivery of power infrastructure in the WA market and reports to the Director Business Development- Power.
As the Business Development Manager you will be driving the relationships with our key clients in the region as well as internal stakeholders. Having experience in the bidding process, developing and implementing proposal and pursuit strategies and leading major proposals and expressions of interest will be essential. As a confident and decisive business professional, you’ll play a significant role in the execution of all bids for the power business. Your success will come down to your solid client relationships, strong project management experience and proven leadership skills.
You will also have relevant engineering qualifications with a minimum of 12 years business development experience with at least 5 year’s experience in professional services and/or contracting environments. Your strong focus on delivering exceptional results and your ability to manage yourself and others under pressure will be key in the success of this role.
This is a key role within our organisation and based from our Perth office the Business Development Manager will leverage their existing network within the Western Australian energy sector to continue to grow the Power Business. This role will be well supported within the business and will receive the autonomy to identify and win new business.
To be successful in this role you will have a solid background in business development and bid management and well developed skills in leading and managing proposals on major projects.
You will have:
- 12+ year’s experience in a business development role. Additionally 5 years in an engineering consultancy or contracting business
- Have relevant tertiary qualifications relating to the technical nature of the Power business.
- Strong interpersonal and client relationship skills and approach
- Has developed successful, innovative bid strategies and methodologies
- Successfully managed a difficult client accounts and negotiated significant contracts
- Has grown a business operation by a significant percentage on an annual basis
- Successfully managed and grown “top 20” client relationships, involving relationship management and CRM processes with equivalents and above in client organisations
- Accessed and mobilised resources from across disciplines and Business Units to deliver on bids
- Well-developed skills in reviewing and managing large proposals no matter what market area or capability.
