We are currently seeking a dedicated person to fill this following:

Position: Field Service Technician
Work Location: Birmingham, AL

Summary:
Travel to and work at customers’ jobsites and assist in start up or trouble shooting pump/vacuum/compressor equipment supplied by Gardner Denver Nash. Present maintenance seminars to train customers in the operations of Gardner Denver Nash equipment and promote service.

Responsibilities:

• Visit customers to correct installation/pump problems and sell aftermarket services.
• Evaluate on-site customers' warranty claims and determine the validity of these claims.
• Operate boroscope to inspect customers’ pumps, analyze results and communicate customer's options for repair. Run site performance tests on GDN equipment to determine if equipment needs replacement or repair.
• Repair pumps on site or at the service center.
• Work on the shop floor to repair equipment when not performing on-site customer duties.

Qualifications:

• 5 years' experience repairing/trouble shooting large rotating equipment. Experience selling/promoting Service and Repair to customers.
• A quick learner who is a self-starter and results-oriented to become a key team player.
• Demonstrated skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment are a must.
• Working knowledge of machining concepts and processes with large rotating equipment. Experience with pumps, vacuums and compressors is a plus.
• Must be available to work overtime when needed.
• Must be available to travel overnight and work at customer sites for up to 5 days.
• High School/Technical School Graduate
