Position: Mechanical Contact Engineer
Work Location: Chalmette/New Orleans, LA

Job Summary:

• Fill an entry level mechanical engineering technical position for fixed equipment in support of an oil refinery.
• Provide technical support to the refining site with a focus on troubleshooting, asset improvement, and technology selection.
• Located in Chalmette, LA, with possible short or long-term relocation opportunity to other company engineering or manufacturing sites. Job function reports to Fixed Equipment Technical Services Department Supervisor and Department Head.

Primary Job Functions:

• Respond to plant operational events.
• Analyze site fixed equipment performance.
• Drive site asset improvement in the areas of: Safety, Reliability, Environmental Performance and Equipment Capability and Efficiency in a team setting.
• Support capital projects and minor modifications in the areas of design consulting, technical quality assurance, and start-up assistance.
• Communicates and interacts daily with Inspection, Maintenance, Process, and Operations team members.
• Drives information and drawing improvements.

• Prefer professional experience (including internships and co-ops) within an operating company, major engineering contractor or vendor (petrochemical or other heavy industry experience strongly desired).
