This exciting new role works closely with the Executive Manager People Qantas Operations, the Qantas Operations People Leadership Team and key business stakeholders to develop and drive the People agenda in Western Australia.
The role offers a unique opportunity to work in partnership with other People Relations Managers and Heads of People across the business to deliver best practice HR across a number of stakeholder groups and senior leadership teams. You will be involved organisational development as well as consistency in People processes and programs. This diverse employee group provides the opportunity to partner with a large group of senior managers and leaders, allowing you to hone your relationship management and coaching skills.
The role is ideally suited to a individual who enjoys influencing at all levels and understands the requirement to be flexible within a fast changing, dynamic business environment.

You will be responsible for:
- Establishing strong working relationships with the business leaders to drive the People agenda across the various functional areas
- Supporting and implementing HR strategies and plans with senior leaders to address business needs including employee engagement, organisational reviews and workforce planning/management
- Leading the People change strategy ensuring objectives are achieved and benefits realised
- Coaching leadership teams in day to day matters and providing expert advice on all people related issues
- Partnering with the leadership team through the talent process including on-going management of talent identification, individual development, training and effective succession planning
- Supporting managers with advice and expertise in relation to remuneration and benefits frameworks and employee reward and recognition procedures and policies
- Providing advice and support and building management capability in relation to performance management
- Providing advice and expertise to the business unit in relation to all IR and Employee Relations activities
To be successful in this role you will display:
- Tertiary qualifications in HR or a related discipline
- Extensive HR experience within a business/commercial environment
- Excellent business acumen as it relates to delivering the people strategy
- Ability to deliver a change management and OD agenda
- Proven project management experience in a complex environment
- Experience in coaching, influencing and aligning senior leaders & stakeholders
- A sound working knowledge of IR & HR policy & procedures
- Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
- A demonstrated ability to ensure confidentiality & deal with ambiguity
- Flexible to travel
- Able to role model the Qantas values and develop a high performing People team
