Position: Mechanical Chief Engineer
Work Location: Toa Payoh (North East)

Responsibilities:
The selected candidate would to enable design ambitions of the BG TV by delivering the set with innovative solutions that meet Quality/Safety requirements against competitive costs. He would need to execute & develop IPD projects in line with mechanical standards. Together with the team, he is delivering the TV set mechanics following the design aspiration, on time delivery, meeting quality & safety standards. He represents the mechanical domain in the IPD project team.

  • In-charge & develop mechanical function in the TV architecture phase from concept design until final product integration.
  • Provide technical leadership to meet design, quality and cost targets with concepts validated at “architecture defined” and mature for IPD implementation in set design.
  • In-charge & develop mechanical set in the IPD development phase from detail design, mature design release until production.
  • Provide technical leadership to meet timely deliverables at project milestones, meeting agreed quality, safety and cost target.
  • Interface with report to mechanical management team & set project manager for risk management, deliverables schedule & quality from mechanical project team.

Requirements:
  • Degree with minimum 5 years experience in TV or related mechanical product design in chassis and cabinet architecture and its related technology including packaging
  • Strong knowledge with experience in the technology of plastic, metal, other secondary processes and manufacturability aspects
  • Familiar in 3D CAD/CAM design software as well as related finite element and molding simulation tools
  • Good knowledge of pricing of the relevant key components, other parts and functions and and competitor’s market
  • Experience with co-development with suppliers around the world
  • Analytical, creative and capable of thinking on a conceptual level, yet also hands-on to achieve excellent results
  • preciate aesthetical design and curiosity for technology
  • Good technical organizational, communication and team-player skills
