Position: Supervisor, Field Technical Support

Job Description:

HP's Technology Services hire exceptional people supporting business technology in action. They hire talented professionals who bring the technical insight, process excellence and resource flexibility to help customers optimize their technology operations and drive business outcomes, from desktop to datacenter. In this light, HP are now looking for a talented and Experienced Supervisor, Field Technical Support for the delivery of complex engagements in diverse client environments in their Sydney office.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the smooth Day to Day Operations of team i.e. Resource management rosters
  • Ensure Team is meeting operation KPI's
  • Mentor and guide team members with handling customer and technical escalations/situations
  • Manage customer escalations and report writing. This may also include customer visits to present
  • Drive Team performance
  • Assist with the running of projects

Qualifications

Skills:
  • Good communication skills verbal and writte.
  • Proficient in excel and powerpoint.
  • Understand technical jargon (technical background would be advantageous)
  • Provides supervision to lower level supervisors/direct supervision to highly-skilled, nonexempt employees.
  • Monitor team performance and act on corrective action plans.
  • Set and meet operational targets.
  • Mentor / Guide team members in handling technical escalations/new situations.
  • Manage team within country only.
  • Drive team performance/morale.
  • Business, technical, or functional knowledge at the mastery level.
  • Administrative or operations knowledge.
  • Skills in project management/communication/analysis scheduling/controlling, and presentation.

Education and Experience Required:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 4-6 years related experience and project or team management experience.

  • Drives the operationalisation and execution of HP's business vision, strategy and direction
  • Tracks and enforces spending parameters to protect HP's business assets, and ensure their effective engagement
  • Monitors, troubleshoots, and improves area-of-control operations to ensure alignment with HP's business direction, quality of business practices, optimum organizational performance and a highly motivated sales force.
  • Effectively manages the technical component of portfolio to optimize technical support and maintain robust technical contributions.
  • Assesses and manages employee performance to ensure individual and group excellence.
  • Applies understanding of HP service organization and functions.
  • Understands the market segments sold into, the business challenges addressed by HP Services (HPS)/Business Unit (BU) solutions, and HP's strategy for market penetration
  • Understands HPS/BU solutions in area-of-responsibility- what they consist of, product roadmaps, key technology concepts, and the competitive landscape in which they are sold
  • Understands how services in area-of-responsibility fit within or interface with the sales of other solutions - HPS, other Global/General Business Unit (GBU)s, or HP's partner strategies.
  • Understands the strategy/customer requirements involved in deploying software solutions
  • Understands the key positioning messages for services and the resources available for effective selling.
