Position: Sr. Quality Engineer
Work Location: Detroit, MI - Renaissance Center - 400 Renaissance Center

Description:
  • Improve customer satisfaction and service performance by identifying and resolving OnStar's most significant impacting issues.
  • Implement Quality and Engineering improvement techniques, such as process flow diagrams, FMEAs, and Regression Analysis, to improve the performance of OnStar services.
  • Develop and lead cross-functional teams, to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and successfully improve service performance.
  • Present findings and recommendations to Senior Management.
  • Follow-up on action items to ensure resolution.

Education and Training:
Bachelor degree with a major in engineering or equivalent training.

Qualifications:
  • High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult.
  • Well developed oral and written communication skills.
  • High level of knowledge of product engineering and manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of Corporate and divisional quality and reliability, standards, policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated technical and professional skills in job-related area required.
  • Appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals required.
  • Knowledge of and ability to effectively use computer software as it pertains to engineering preferred.

Additional Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 7 years professional experience.
  • 2-5 years experience in OnStar systems, hardware, or IT development.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Advanced use of Microsoft products, including Excel, Access, Word, Powerpoint, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of relational database design, operation, and query/reporting capabilities.
  • Advanced knowledge of problem solving methodologies

Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge and experience in one or more of the following: Wireless communications, GPS, navigation, software development, telephony, communications protocols.
