Position: Channel Sales Manager
Work Location: Detroit, MI

General Purpose of Position:
Responsible for achieving retail sales objectives in Regional Big Box and large group (insurance companies, fleet customers, dealer groups) channels.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage marketing strategies for regional Big Box consumer electronics retailers for sales and marketing of the OnStar FMV (aftermarket) product. Annual volumes in these channels is expected to exceed 30K units.
  • Develop group sales opportunities with volume purchasers of the FMV product. Interest has been shown by insurance companies, RV manufacturers, fleets, dealer groups, governments, and others. Expect potential for an additional 50K units annually in this space.
  • Manage sales and marketing budgets in targeted channels.
  • Develop merchandising plans with retail partners and distributors
  • Manage ordering and forecasting to ensure optimal inventory levels
  • Lead internal OnStar groups (IT, Finance, Engineering, Service Delivery) to develop solutions required by targeted channels.
  • Develop additional sales channel opportunities with the potential to more than double OnStar FMV volumes. Active inquiries to be developed from Wal-Mart, Amazon, Radio Shack, and Costco.

Qualifications:
  • Retail sales Management, particularly in consumer electronics
  • Prefer 3-5 years demonstrated success in launching new consumer electronics products into retail sales channels
  • Demonstrated success in meeting sales objectives and improving profitability
  • The best candidate will also bring an extensive network of contacts that can be drawn on to develop opportunities for OnStar FMV
