We provide a 24 hour service for those unexpected occurrences, and being based in Brisbane we can provide a fast and efficient response. Our demolition and asbestos removal services involve all types of commercial, industrial and domestic structures including friable and bonded asbestos removal and manual and mechanical demolition.

Our management team has years of combined experience in the asbestos removal and demolition industry and we employ staff who are fully trained and hold all relevant certification. Abyss is certified by Workplace Health and Safety to perform friable asbestos removal and unrestricted demolition works and holds public liability insurance for these activities.

Position: Estimator / Project Manager
Work Location: Brisbane, QLD

Our company operates Queensland wide in the demolition and asbestos removal industry. We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated estimator who has a strong background in selective and structural demolition.

As a successful applicant you will be flexible and detail-oriented, a team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks and be able to consistently produce quality work and meet your deadlines.

Your responsibilities will include estimating and project management duties including:

• Preparing competitive project tenders
• Interacting with clients and developing relationships to assist in the corporate growth of the company
• Managing the sequence of demolition and asbestos removal work
• Creating effective and cost efficient project schedules
• Reporting to management on project operations and profitability
• Liaising with Management, onsite Supervisors, Clients and Suppliers to ensure projects are completed on time and budget
• Performing contracts administration duties as required

Successful applicants will have:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
• Ability to read and understand construction documents including detailed plans, scopes and Bills of Quantities
• Knowledge and understanding of unit costs and factors that affect demolition costs
• Ability to prepare daily job reports
• Ability to prepare detailed estimate updates, trade specific clarifications and comprehensive bid packages
• Experience in contracts administration would be desirable
• A degree in construction management would be highly regarded
• 5+ years experience as a demolition estimator is preferred
