Position Summary
The Global Security Engineering group is responsible for the strategy, architecture, design, support, availability, and reliability of Visa Inc.'s credit and debit business, including network and information security technologies. Global Security Engineering also shares responsibility with information security access and security compliance of the Visa infrastructure.

Job Scope
This Senior Business Leader, Security Engineering role is a recognized expert within Visa responsible for contributing to the development of functional strategy. This is a people management role for a team responsible for solving unique and complex problems that have a broad impact on the business.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide oversight and leadership for staff and serve as escalation point for issues that arise.
  • Primary mentor for team members for their career development and for adherence to departmental procedures, processes, and the implementation of sound security practices.
  • Provide oversight and guidance on the planning, implementation, and ongoing support of global infrastructure security tools.
  • Lead the design process to translate security and business strategy and requirements into technical designs.
  • Research, evaluate, recommend and implement new and evolving security technologies.
  • Provide oversight and guidance on the design and implementation activities to ensure compliance with controls and procedures that cost effectively protect Visa information systems assets from intentional or inadvertent modification, disclosure or destruction.
  • Guide the security engineering team on the development of workflow processes for operations and support for the deployed security infrastructure.
  • Work with the other engineering teams to ensure solutions deployed meet Visa Security Requirements and provide assistance for investigation and analysis of security alerts.
  • Provide advanced consultancy to ensure problem resolution is achieved in the shortest possible timeframe.
  • Manage relationship with Vendor to provide product recommendations, configuration, implementation and problem management.
  • Develop of processes and procedures for use by the Network and Security engineering team and third parties in the management of network security environments.
  • Develop and position solutions and create a roadmap to effectively gain buy-in from all stakeholders.
  • Provide recommendations to management team to increase effectiveness of organization and technology solutions.
  • Manage the financial forecast and budget for the security engineering team, including labor and non-labor oversight.
  • Monitor incident, problem, and other control systems to ensure that deployed security controls remain effective.

Requirements:
  • Bachelors/Degree in Computer Science or other technology field; typically requires a minimum of 12+ years experience including 3 years of experience in a management role.
  • Security certification(s) preferred (CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CISA, or SANS/GIAC, etc…)
  • Strong understanding of Information Security principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of Information security regulations, compliance programs and policies (PCI, GLBA, SSAE-16, etc…)
  • Experience with various security technologies and techniques including an aspects related to the engineering and deployment of security services.
  • Requires experience in people management including organizing geographically distributed resources, establishing priorities, and coordinating project and daily activities.
  • Knowledge of emerging IT Security technologies covering all aspects of IT architecture.
  • Excellent leadership and teaming skills.
  • Ability to create and influence security direction especially as it relates to the engineering and deployment of security technology.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate to all levels of an organization.
  • Familiar with ITIL concepts such as Incident, Change, and Problem Management.
