SBS Transit Requires Senior / Executive (Safety Officer) for Singapore

With expansion of our existing rail network, the North-East MRT Line and the Light Rail Transit System in Sengkang and Punggol new towns, and the recent award of the new Dowtown MRT Line (which is expected to be operational by 2013), we are actively seeking dynamic and highly motivated individuals to join us as we strive to be the land transport operator of choice.

Position: Senior / Executive (Safety Officer)
Work Location: Singapore - Sengkang

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) system for work activities
Implementing and achieving certification of OHSAS 18001
To monitor and report on the WSH performance in Rail Business Area and make recommendations for improvements
Conduct hazard analysis and risk assessments when necessary
Conduct training on WSH when necessary
Responsible for the security of the depot
Act as secretary for the company’s WSH Committee
Advise on legislative requirements and liaise with the Ministry of Manpower on matters related to WSH
Conduct safety audits and inspections on workplaces and processes, as well as investigate WSH incidents and accidents
Develop Safety Awareness programmes to promote interest in and performance of WSH
Co-ordinates safety audits as required by the regulator and external auditor

Requirements:

Degree in Engineering
5 years of relevant working experience
Must be a Registered Safety Officer with MOM
Good knowledge in established security systems
Knowledge of implementing and the achieving certification of OHSAS 18001 is an advantage
Good initiative, analytical and critical thinking skills
Independent with strong communication/presentation and interpersonal skills
