We are currently seeking a dedicated person to fill this following:

Position: Environmental Manager
Work Location: Peachtree City, GA; Houston, TX; Fort Worth, TX

Summary:
The position will be accountable for ensuring compliance with Gardner Denver, Inc.’s Environmental Programs through regulations familiarity and the administration and interpretation of Environmental Policy and Procedures. This position is responsible for the maintenance and enhancement of the Company’s Environmental Management System, maintaining central records, providing assistance to all facilities in internal reviews, and training requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Reviews and interprets Federal, State, and local laws and regulations concerning loss prevention, Environmental compliance, and transportation of hazardous materials.
  • Maintains an organized and comprehensive Environmental & Safety management system (ESMS), by, among other things, establishing and continuously upgrading appropriate policies, directives and technological solutions to be utilized by each facility Environmental & Safety coordinator.
  • Specifically, work involves activities to support the ESMS system in the following areas:
    • Contacts - Compiling organized lists of key contacts within Federal, State, and Local regulatory agencies, Gardner Denver organizations, and approved disposal facilities and contractors.
    • Chemical Inventories - Maintaining a complete chemical inventory by constituent for accurate agency reporting and the support of elimination/reduction policies.
    • Emergency Response - Reviewing and upgrading contingency plans and emergency procedures and ensure compliance.
    • Hazard Communication - Support the facility Safety coordinators in their OSHA Hazard Communication efforts.
    • Policy and Procedures - Review and upgrade all procedures and policies to ensure consistency with all EPA, OSHA and DOT hazardous waste regulations, and Gardner Denver guidelines.
    • Records - Maintain record keeping systems pursuant to agency reporting, permits, training, waste logs, chemical inventory, auditing, and environmental events.
    • Regulations - Developing regulatory interpretation documents to support the site Environmental & Safety coordinators and plant managers.
    • Service Companies - Maintain a listing of approved waste disposal facilities, labs, and engineering services to reduce Company liabilities.
    • Training - Provide guidance, training requirements, and documentation to comply with EPA, OSHA, and DOT hazardous waste regulations and Company guidelines.
  • Participates in Environmental & Safety due diligence efforts for purchase & sale of businesses.
  • Manages offsite remediation liabilities where Gardner Denver is a participant.
  • Provides Environmental statistic and status reports as requested.
  • Tracks Company utility usage and carbon emissions.

Qualifications:
  • A civil, chemical, or environmental engineering/management degree is required.
  • A thorough understanding of concepts, principles, and practices of Environmental compliance, with 5 to 10 years of experience.
  • Human relations skills in motivating, directing, and managing personnel of all levels involved in diverse Environmental issues is needed.
  • A thorough understanding of manufacturing processes with experience in global manufacturing is preferred.
  • Excellent project management, communication, and presentation skills required.
  • Able to work with diverse global teams and can develop an understanding of cultural (both country and organizational) differences and adapt communications and actions to achieve the desired results.
  • Strong analytical skills to solve problems and identify process improvements, plus strong influence and persuasion skills.
  • Multi-country travel up to 33% per year is anticipated for this position.
