Our principal iron ore operations are based in the Pilbara region of northern Western Australia and our corporate offices based in Perth. The operation comprises a complex integrated system of seven inland mining operations, more than 1000 km of rail, stock years and two separate port facilities located in Port Hedland. The mining department is a core function of BHP Billiton's Iron Ore business, providing earthmoving and open cut mining expertise, with a strong focus on developing our people in a safe environment.

Location:
Area C mine is located 120km north-west of Newman and about a one hour drive from the picturesque Karijini National Park. The site is equipped with a medical centre and recreational facilities that include a gymnasium, swimming pool, tennis court, cricket nets, walking and cycling tracks.

This role is for our mine site "Mining Area C" and is offered on a FIFO basis from Perth, direct to site, on a 14 days on / 7 days off roster.

The successful applicant would be reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor, your duties as a Light Vehicle Fitter will include but are not limited to:

• Service and maintain equipment & vehicle's (i.e. 4WD, Light Trucks & Buses)
• Identify cause of breakdown with use of pressure gauges and computers.
• Replace or repair components as required including mirrors, hoses, pumps and motor components.
• Occasionally assist with Serviceman duties i.e. filling up mobile plant with fuel, oils, water, and grease.

Skills and Experience:
You will thrive in a busy & modern workshop environment and possess a high regard for the health and safety practises. The successful candidate must have experience with Toyota & Isuza; 4WD, Light Trucks and Buses and preferably worked on an open cut mine.

You will hold an Australian Trade Certificate Mechanic and a current full West Australian "C" class motor vehicle license or current equivalent Australian State motor vehicle license is a requirement of this role. Auto Electrical & Air Conditioning experience would be advantageous.
