Chevron Energy Technology Corporation (ETC) is accepting online applications for the position of Senior Subsea Engineer located in Houston, Texas or Aberdeen, Scotland, or Perth, Australia through December 31, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).
This position will play an integral role as a member of the Subsea Engineering Center of Excellence (CoE), which provides technical expertise to the Upstream Major Capital Projects and Base Business organizations. CoE employees fill various positions, including research and development, short term consulting/problem solving, with potential for long term secondment to Major Capital Projects or Strategic Business Units. Typical roles may include project scoping, concept selection, FEED and detailed design, fabrication, installation and/or operation of subsea facilities.
The Subsea CoE is seeking expertise in the following disciplines:
- Subsea Systems & Project Engineering
- Subsea Power, Pumping & Processing
- Subsea Flowlines, Flexible Pipe & Umbilicals
- Subsea Equipment and Controls
- Subsea Operations
- Subsea Installation and Intervention
Required Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the oil industry.
- It is anticipated that both international and domestic business travel to locales with subsea operations will be required. Such locations could include West Africa, Indonesia, North & South America, Australia & Europe.
- Candidates must be willing and able to fulfill business travel requirements.
- Offshore medical clearance and offshore survival certification.
- Capable of serving as Technical Lead on projects, including generation of detailed functional specifications and bid packages, performing bid analysis, review of design and test documentation, interface management, QA/QC and testing oversight, integration testing, installation and system commissioning.
- Able to manage technical and commercial aspects of contracts as well as interfaces between vendors and various project stakeholders.
- Experienced with applicable industry and regulatory codes, standards, and recommended practices of subsea equipment and systems.
- Participation on industry committees (API, ISO, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate and direct the efforts of others to achieve exceptional performance standards.
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision, be self-directing, and exhibit due diligence in pursuit of objectives.
- Experienced in project controls, including effective work planning, risk assessment, contingency plans, contract management, and demonstrated business acumen.
- Strong communicator, who excels at building relationships with customers, contractors and colleagues.
- Places the highest priority on health and safety, in addition to the protection of assets and the environment.
- Demonstrated safety leadership and disciplined application of operational excellence management systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
7 years experience related to a Subsea discipline.
