The term was first used by Chrysler in the 1920s and has been in continuous use ever since. Mopar parts are original equipment manufactured parts for Chrysler vehicles. In Canada, these were sold under the Chryco and AutoPar brands until the Mopar brand was phased into that nation's market, starting in the late 1970s.

Job Description:
The Parts Sales or Counterperson is responsible for assisting all mechanics and customers in purchasing needed parts and supplies. The PS is also responsible for achieving monthly sales and gross forecasts and for seeking out and soliciting parts business. The PS reports directly to the Parts Manager.

DUTIES

1. Sell parts to meet monthly forecasts
   
   • Issue parts and accessories to mechanics.
   • Solicit customers for parts and accessories sales using phone, direct mail, etc.
   • Provide delivery service of orders using parts truck.
   • Display seasonal parts and accessories in an attractive manner.
2. Sell parts to meet monthly forecasts
   
   • Maintain customer back order file.
   • Maintain master parts and price book.
   • Receive original and duplicate copies of repair orders from dispatcher and place in order file.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

As an Automotive Parts Advisor, you will be experienced and aware of the latest automotive technologies and be a persistent problem solver. We have determined some factors that may enable your success as an Automotive Parts Advisor:

• Must have at least one year of experience in an auto parts sales role.
• Must have computer proficiency.
• Team oriented, flexible and focused on maintaining a high level of customer service
• Valid driver's license
