
MEASAT Requires Network Management Center Engineer for Selangor

The MEASAT fleet includes the state of art MEASAT-3/3a satellites at 91.5°E which support Asia’s premium DTH and video distribution neighbourhood. The MEASAT fleet will be further strengthened over the next two years with the addition of AFRICASAT-1a at 46°E in Q4 2012 and MEASAT-3b at 91.5°E in Q4 2013.
Leveraging facilities at the MEASAT Teleport and Broadcast Centre, and working with a select group of world-class partners, MEASAT also provides a complete range of broadcast and telecommunications solutions. Services include 3D, high definition and standard definition video playout, video turnaround, co-location, uplinking, broadband and IP termination services.
Position: Network Management Center Engineer
Work Location: Selangor
Responsibilities:
The candidate will be responsible in managing the services provided by MEASAT to its customers. The scopes of responsibilities include:
- Customer Support - supports Antenna verification test - Link activations and Link upgrades or modifications
- Transponder monitoring - actively fine tuning the ever changing carrier parameters on the Communication System Monitoring (CSM) software, attends to alarms, co-ordinates for adjustments as necessary
- Occasional Use Service (OUS) management - manages bookings, monitors activations, records utilizations and reports the usages for billing
- Video Services monitoring - monitors the channels availability, responds to the outages, co-ordinates the restoration efforts, notifies all relevant parties (customers, affiliates, management, vendors), and updates the status to all relevant parties
- IP over Satellite Services (IPOST) monitoring - monitors the services availability, responds to the outages, coordinates the restoration efforts, notifies and updates the status to all relevant parties
- RF and Baseband equipment monitoring - monitors overall availability, attends to alarms and coordinates restoration
- Provide first level support for co-location service - performs visual checks on customers' equipment upon request, monitors customers' carriers for any anomaly
- Documentations - generates/enhances the processes and procedures for various services offered to the customers
- Reporting - manages and dispatches the daily Video Transmission reports to all video customers. Generates and dispatches the monthly reports to all customers detailing the service availability for each service subscribed and provides customers with explanations if availability falls below SLA. Generates and distributes daily operation status report to relevant internal parties
- Manages and maintain the operations of all tools and measurement instruments within Network Management
Requirements:
- Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering
- 1-2 year experience in service sector. Fresh graduates are also invited to apply.
- Knowledge in NMS, video equipment, CISCO routers and switches would be an advantage
- Highly motivated individual
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Work entails shift duty
- Malaysian citizens only
