Position: Environment Health and Safety Advisor
Work Location: Geraldton, WA

Description:
Boeing Defence Australia is an integral part of the Boeing global organisation, employing approximately 1400 people at 13 sites around the country, primarily in support of high technology aerospace and communications systems for the Department of Defence.

We are currently seeking an Environment Health and Safety Advisor at our Geraldton site.

The Environment Health and Safety Advisor assists program leaders to ensure all services and deliverables under the program are provided in accordance with Boeing Environment, Health and Safety, (EHS) and related management systems and comply with statutory obligations, codes of practice and Australian standards applying to sites in Western Australia, the Northern Territory, the Australian Capital Territory and New South Wales.

Provides EHS coordination, direction, planning and support for these Sites.

The Environment Health and Safety Advisor applies Environment, Health and Safety guidance from Commonwealth sources where appropriate, in recognition that Boeing has joint responsibility with the Commonwealth for safety and health at each site.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential criteria:
  • Relevant qualification in Occupational Safety and Health or relevant experience.
  • A sound understanding of State and Territory EHS legislation and Australian standards applying in Western Australia, the Northern Territory, the Australian Capital Territory and New South Wales.
  • Experience in EHS planning and reporting, internal audit, incident investigation and risk management.
  • Experience in EHS incident management and return to work coordination.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Well-developed research, analytical and reporting skills.
  • Effective time management and organisational skills.
  • Proficient with contemporary computer applications including Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Ability to obtain and retain an appropriate Australian Government Security Assessment.
  • Available for domestic travel to service each of the three Sites.

Desirable criteria:
  • Relevant qualification in an Environmental Management discipline or relevant experience.
  • Recent experience in a similar role.
  • Workplace training and assessment qualifications and experience.
