
FTI Consulting Requires Technical Support Engineer

We are currently seeking a dedicated person to fill the following:
Position: Senior Technical Support Engineer
Work Location: Sydney, NSW
Responsibilities:
- Tier 1 & 2 Help desk & onsite support to the region– trouble shoot and provide resolutions to technical issue including any hardware, software and mobile devices reported by end users
- Log and update status information into the support ticketing system
- Implement the computing platform, networking infrastructure and application systems with respect to the company’s IT strategy
- Recommendation on improving performance on the PC & network
- Work with local IT vendor on hardware procurement
- PC hardware and software installation
- Conference room setups including AV, VC equipment and online meeting configuration and support
- Assist inventory and asset control
- Assist in ad hoc projects
Requirements:
- Excellent communication (written & verbal), planning, organization, and administrative skills
- Exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of technology significance within FTI Consulting
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced, multi-task environment
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and stressful situations
- Ability to handle and balance multiple critical tasks at the same time
- Availability to travel with little notice
- Detailed knowledge of current personal computer, server, and network hardware and software including interfaces and relationships
- Experience on local area networks, wide area networks, (LAN/WAN) connectivity is preferred
- Ability to grasp fundamentals quickly and instruct others in their use. Competent to work on fairly complex computer and local and wide area networking problems independently.
- Experience with Windows 2000 server, Windows 2003 Windows 2008 and Windows XP / 7 operating systems
- Extensive knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook)
- Experience with time entry systems, Citrix, Cisco IP phone, Contact Mgmt Systems and Adobe Acrobat Full version preferred
- MOS / MCSA / MCSE / CCNA certifications will be an advantage
- Minimum 4 years experience in a 50-100 staff LAN environment
- Superior customer service skills
