Position: Chief of Maintenance
Work Location: Wichita, KS

Job description
The Chief of Maintenance (COM) reports directly to the Manager of Maintenance. Duties will include debriefing flight crews, troubleshooting, performing maintenance, scheduling maintenance, and record keeping of aircraft operated by Bombardier Aerospace Flight Operations. The COM will ensure compliance with all Federal Aviation Regulations and Company procedures and policies.

In your role, you will:
  1. Ensure airworthiness and manage all technical issues of assigned aircraft
  2. Coordinate scheduled and unscheduled maintenance with appropriate service facilities
  3. Provide accurate maintenance schedule projections and estimates
  4. Maintain all maintenance records and documentation for assigned aircraft in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations and company procedures.
  5. Be responsible for the dispatch and arrival of all aircraft assigned
  6. Perform maintenance pre-flight and post flight inspections, scheduled inspection items, and repairs on company operated aircraft
  7. Develop requirements for aircraft inventory and ensure cost effective purchases of material, parts and other items required in supporting the maintenance department
  8. Review and negotiate all maintenance invoices for assigned aircraft
  9. Required to be on call 24/5 to support aircraft maintenance requirements.
  10. Be adaptable to a rotating weekend coverage that requires continuous on call duty and coming in to coordinate maintenance as needed
  11. Travel internationally and/or domestically infrequently when required.
  12. Provide excellent customer service and support to Bombardier Learjet customers and vendors.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager of Maintenance

As our ideal candidate, you will meet the following requirements:
  1. Technical knowledge of Learjet aircraft
  2. Airframe & Powerplant Certificate
  3. 5 years corporate aircraft maintenance experience desired
  4. Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) required
  5. Computer skills desired; Microsoft Office, CAMP Systems and Lotus Notes preferred
  6. Attendance and completion of a Learjet Aircraft Maintenance course
  7. Ability to plan, perform and/or oversee aircraft maintenance on Learjet aircraft
  8. Maintain flexible working hours to meet flight schedule demands and department coverage requirements
  9. Ability to work with little supervision, make independent decisions, achieve goals and meet flight schedule demands
  10. Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with a variety of customers, individuals, departments and organizations
  11. Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
