Siemens is currently recruiting for Test and Commissioning Engineers to join our team on a contract and permanent basis. Based at our Belmont office, as Test and Commissioning Engineer you will participate in all testing and commissioning activities within the Rail Technology System environment.

What are my responsibilities?
- Developing test plans and test procedures, documenting test results in accordance with the requirements of the contract
- Executing all tests and overseeing the installation and commissioning phases
- Provision of feedback and site records relating to all commissioning and testing activities
- Participation in ensuring that hazards arising from all commissioning activities are identified and that adequate risk assessments are conducted and proper controls put in place prior to commissioning works
- Participating in system support activities such as rostered 24 hour telephone support
- Participating in the submission of all relevant testing procedures for approval to the Principal
- Planning, co-ordination and execution of on site installations at the customer’s site
- Participation in the planning and co-ordination of the relevant testing phases, such as System Test, FAT and SAT
What do I need to qualify for this job?
To be successful in this role you will hold a Degree in Electrical, Control System, Software or Mechanical Engineering. You will have a minimum of two years professional engineering experience working in medium to large scale projects covering test and commissioning. Previous experience in the railway industry will be highly regarded.
Experience in structured software testing (creating test procedures, running tests with and without customers, getting signoff for successful tests, etc.) is essential, as well as experience with Solaris or Unix is highly beneficial.
You will also be a proficient user of MS-Excel (including MS-Excel macros) and you possess UNIX experience. You have the ability to work independently with little or no support and you also pride yourself on your ability to effectively communicate and engage with internal Siemens resources to deliver a superior customer experience.
