
Thales Requires Senior Technical Trainer for U.S.A

Based in Arlington, Virginia, Thales USA serves as the Corporate office and leverages domestic and overseas Thales capabilities. Position: Senior Technical Trainer

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop new or revise existing courses to include presentations, exercises, operator guides etc. based on available engineering source data, practical application in system labs, and discussions with engineers. Instruction materials will comply with ATA Specification 104.
- Deliver theoretical and practical instruction locally at the Irvine facility or at customer locations worldwide in a variety of culturally diverse settings.
- Stay current with system architecture and software changes.
- Coordinate training events with program management, Thales regional staff, and customer representatives.
- Identify and manage the logistical requirements of assigned training events such as international travel, accommodations, timely visa application, training room, materials, equipment, etc.
- Gather and compile training statistics, maintain records, issue certificates and write reports as required.
- Maintain a positive perception of Thales and Customer Support and Services within the industry.
- Identify and resolve early any problems with assigned projects and provide regular status updates to management.
- Travel up to 40 percent; majority international and some domestic.
- Participate, as required, to achieve European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), part 147 Training Certification.
Qualified Candidates MUST Possess:
- Five to seven years related experience and/or training in airline avionics maintenance. Airline avionics maintenance experience is preferred and airline maintenance instructor experience is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication skills; foreign languages are a plus, Chinese a plus plus.
- Ability to confidently and effectively present information in one-on-one, small group, and large audience settings.
- Ability to read, interpret and comprehend technical documents such as wiring diagrams, schematics, specifications, operation and maintenance instructions, safety regulations and procedure manuals.
- Ability to convert referenced documents into accurate and comprehensive training material.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and have working knowledge of LINUX operating systems, their structure and command line tasks.
