Position: Physiotherapy - Advanced (Rehabilitation)
Work Location: Townsville

Deliver expert physiotherapy clinical and consultancy services within rehabilitation services at The Townsville Hospital and provide clinical leadership and oversight of the rehabilitation services physiotherapy team to coordinate physiotherapy service delivery and to develop and maintain clinical excellence and high standards of physiotherapy care. Provide specialist clinical advice regarding rehabilitation physiotherapy to clinical service providers, service managers and health care consumers of Townsville Health Service District and the Northern Area Health Service making key contributions to cross-discipline planning, delivery and evaluation of rehabilitation clinical services.

You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following key attributes. Within the context of the responsibilities described above, the ideal applicant will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

  1. Demonstrated advanced level knowledge, expertise and skills in contemporary clinical practice in rehabilitation physiotherapy relevant to the service’s casemix.
  2. Demonstrated ability to provide advanced level clinical advice regarding evidenced based care, professional standards and clinical service development relevant to rehabilitation physiotherapy.
  3. Demonstrated leadership skills to drive evidence based clinical practice and develop appropriate physiotherapy rehabilitation services for the district’s patient group.
  4. Demonstrated ability to manage day to day operations of a diverse team and lead change through quality and service improvement activities and provide clinical supervision, teaching and professional development of personnel.

Qualifications/Professional registration/Other requirements:
  1. Mandatory requirements of a qualification in physiotherapy from a recognised tertiary institution and current registration, or eligibility for current registration, with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia.
  2. Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager prior to commencement of clinical duties.
  3. Working Hours: The successful candidate to this position may be required to participate in shift work/continuous shift work including early, late and night work as well as work on public holidays.
