Position: Scheduling Executive
Work Location: Selangor - Petaling Jaya
Purpose of the position:
To align the transport network and assets to meet agreed Product Service Offers and customer need, delivering product in the most effective method, using BOP processes and tools.
Principal responsibilities:
- Responsible for scheduling of PG&P products deliveries, using Best Operating Practice (BOP) transport planning system Paragon
- Plan deliveries taking into consideration meeting Product Service Offer (PSO) at minimum cost , at the same time ensuring transport planning KPI’s e.g. truck utilization are constantly met without compromising on safety requirement
- Plan inter-branch transport orders using MRP and TOPS and schedule via Paragon; determine delivery routes, frequency and resources using target stock level and demand history
- Ensure that all safety standards, regulatory requirements, customer service and network optimization is kept in check at all times and factored these into consideration in the scheduling
- Monitor the required customer demands and available resources e.g. equipment, drivers, products to enable smooth and timely delivery from specific locations to respective destinations
- Analyses historic customer and inter-branch demand levels & forecasts, access equipment restrictions per geography and recommends transport operation assets & resource levels.
- Analyse different scheduling options e.g. route change, frequency or transport options to assess impacts on KPI’s e.g. unit cost, and use the results to help in optimising deliveries
- Analyse plan vs actual deliveries, identify gaps and implement measures to close the gap
- Make appropriate judgment of situations to swiftly change and re-arrange accordingly to ensure efficient deliveries and excellent customer satisfaction at all times
- Establish excellent communication channel and foster rapport with key members e.g. SCP, Sales, CSC, Operations
- Fully understand the operations of different sites to ensure efficient scheduling of different products /applications within the respective sites
- Ensures transport operations planning functions achieve its targets within the budget
- Prepares training material with regards to transports operations planning, process, responsibilities and tools.
Required qualifications/experience:
- Degree or Diploma in Logistic/Engineering/Supply Chain or Mathematics.
- At least 2 years working experience in logistic operations or related activities.
- Computer literate and familiar with relevant computer technology
- Willing to work on shift and on alternate Saturday
- Analytical thinking; and proactive in resolving issues and proposing improvement initiatives
- Customer focused and sensitive towards order and quality
