Position: Sales Specialist (IDM)

The Intelligent Data Management (IDM) Sales Specialist is a quota carrying salesperson focused on driving the sale of Dell’s Intelligent Data Management solution portfolio. This person will work with existing Account teams and IDM Sales Engineers to identify accounts with complex data management challenges. The IDM Sales Specialist will target, qualify and drive sales campaigns around IDM solutions in a defined territory. The IDM Sales Specialist will make customer sales calls to surface, qualify, position and close new opportunities (at existing dell customers and new acquisition customers) and owns the IDM sales quota for their territory. This role is an integral part of the Dell sales team. The IDM Sales Specialist is responsible for ownership of an opportunity throughout the sales cycle and will engage other subject matter experts or services as needed.
The IDM Sales Specialist must possess a competitive knowledge of the storage industry and will be able to articulate how the Dell solutions differ from the leading storage competitors. Engage on business level discussions around solving Data Management across a customers environment. Through this discussion build a tiered storage strategy and add proposal. The Specialist will be able to conduct high level white board sessions to evaluate and make recommendations to customer business requirements.
Qualifications:
- Must have 8-10 years outside sales experience AND 3-5 years of experience focused on Data Management / Data Tiering as well as networked storage solutions and/or complex enterprise solutions.
- Candidate must be able to work effectively, independently and with existing sales teams.
- Candidate should be able to demonstrate a strong written and oral communications skills, exemplary selling skills, and good time management skills.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) is preferred
