Position: Biomedical Research Associate
Work Location: San Antonio, TX

Are you a skilled Researcher? Would you like to use your Science Degree and Laboratory experience to help the military?

Our client is a military organization dedicated to both laboratory and clinical trauma research. Its mission is to provide medical solutions and products for injured soldiers returning from the war zone.

General Duties:
  • Provides laboratory and animal research support as related to the combat casualty care mission and requirements of resuscitation, blood, and hemostasis research.
  • Exercises an understanding and skill in biomedical research to include animal surgery, project design, data entry and analysis, and biochemical assays.
  • Attains or maintains an understanding of the theory behind all research procedures performed.
  • Remains current in field proficiency, to include active participation towards research publication in open literature.
  • Assists with reference collection, organizing and editing research reports, posters and manuscripts.
  • Maintains all required materials and supplies in the laboratory, surgery, and storage area
  • Provides maintenance of equipment and supplies in a safe secure manner.
  • Collects and records data, to include extensive use of computers and hemodynamic monitoring instruments, as well as creating and implementing new databases for new protocols.
  • Assists in producing and presents graphical representations of data and analyses.
  • Prepares photography, graphics, and image production, for study presentations and publications.
  • Participates in interpretation of results and assists in preparation of manuscripts and other reports and presentations.
  • Maintains research records, anesthesia records, and experimental data.

Requirements:
  • BS or BA degree in Biological Sciences
  • Experience in Laboratory support and Lab maintenance
  • Understanding and skill in Biomedical Research
  • Data management to include data entry and database maintenance and manipulation
